Cold Steel Trail Master San Mai

The Cold Steel Trail Master was designed by Lynn C. Thompson with the aim of "becoming the best all-purpose Bowie Knife in the world" as Cold Steel notes.

        It features a 24cm long Clip Point blade made of VG1 San Mai-stainless steel at a thickness of close to 8mm. The handle is made of non-slip Kray-Ex, it has a length of 12.5cm and features a cased lanyard eyelet of 7.5mm in diameter.-

         Even the stainless steel finger guard of the Trail Master is extreme at a thickness of 4.75mm.- Of course a blade of 8mm thickness and a finger guard of 4.75mm results in some weight at a large knife like the Trail Master. It weighs close to 800 grams without sheath, making it a real heavy cutting tool which seems to be nearly indestructible.-

         The Cold Steel Trail Master comes with the reversible Cordura sheath as pictured above, it is hand-made in limited edition in Japan.
