Ontario - or more precise the Ontario Knife Company, shortened OKC - started at Naples, New York, in 1889. The name of the company derived from Ontario County where Naples was situated.-
When the company grew, a location change to Frankville in the state of NewYork became necessary and some owner changes later, a hundred years ago Ontario started their famous 'Old Hickory'-line which is still mainly manufactured in the U.S.-
As well as other manufacturers in the U.S., Ontario extended their product range on models produced in far east countries in the meanwhile....
