Cold Steel Master Hunter San Mai

At Cold Steel, the Master Hunter is called "one of the finest hunting knives we've ever produced".- As many other Cold Steel knives the Master Hunter is available in several versions, presented here is the design with a 11.6cm flatground blade of japanese VG1-San Mai III® Stainless Steel, a 3-layer steel which provides an extreme edge-holding property and superior strength against lateral forces.-

            Cold Steel specifies the blade thickness at 5mm, we measured 4.75mm at the Ricasso.-  The weight of the Master Hunter is indicated (even on the box) as 6oz. - no matter whether you specify 1 ounce ~ 28g (x6 = 168g) or 1 ounce ~ 31g (x6 = 186g) - is none of the two in accordance with the facts, we have measured 274g (which is a normal weight for a fixed blade of this size and blade thickness) without sheath.....

              The 12cm long handle of the Master Hunter is made of black Kray-Ex - a shock absorbing and wheather resistant material - for a firm but comfortable grip with dry as well as with wet hands, featuring a cased 5mm Ø lanyard eyelet.-

                     The Cold Steel Master Hunter is shipped with a Secure-Ex-sheath as pictured above, which can easily be changed from right to left hand carrying bei just 2 Phillips screws.
