Ontario RAT-5 Nylon 8667

The Ontario RAT-5 model is a medium sized outdoor knife. It features a close to 13cm powder coated flat ground blade made of 1075 carbon steel.- The handle scales are made of tan Micarta, at a length of a little more than 12cm the handle is suitable for larger hands as well.

       The RAT-5 is shipped with a MOLLE-compatible Nylon sheath, which can be carried horizontally on belts as well for instance by the use of 2 Paracord loops (not included in delivery - mounted through the eyes of the sheath).-

        The Ontario RAT-5 looks much like the ESEE-5 (besides the bow drill pivot of the ESEE-5, the scales are nearly identical), but because of the lower blade thickness it is considerably lighter than the ESEE-5 (448 grams - RAT-5 324 grams). As well the RAT-5 is more suited for a bit more delicate tasks because of it's flat grind and the larger Ricasso with the finger groove in front of the scales, allthough it's blade is 1cm shorter than the blade of the ESEE-5.
